DFQ~Caught on fire at the Billy Higgins’ legacy venue “The World Stage ”
This little audio gem is all that survives from a performance at Billy Higgins’ The World Stage in Leimert Park, CA October 22, 2016. “Think Of Me” written by the great George Cables, is performed by the DFQ~Dale Fielder Quartet: Dale Fielder-baritone sax, Jane Getz-piano, Bill Markus-electric bass, Thomas White-drums. Audio is slightly distorted but listenable, but the band being on fire makes it worth listening to!
DALE FIELDER GROUP/FORCE CLARION JAZZ PROMO CLIP
One day I was going through some old CDs and DVDs and found this. It’s a Clarion Jazz Promo Video for the Dale Fielder Group/Force from back on May 31, 2002! It features Group/Force members: Dale Fielder-alto sax / Danny Grissett-piano / Trevor Ware-bass and Thomas White-drums. Also featured on the clip is KLON 88.1 FM (now KJAZ) host James Janisse from a live performance of the day at a hotel in Long Beach, if I remember correctly. Wow as of 2015 that over 13 years ago! Amazing! That band was really something else! The beautiful thing about old promos, is that they’re still relevant and you can still use them, as long as product is still available.
